Attendance and Tardiness – Preschool will start promptly at the scheduled class time. Students should arrive on time to preschool each day. The gate will be open when preschoolers can enter (approx. 5 minutes prior). Missed days will not be prorated.
Arrival and Departure – For the safety of the students, please drop off and pick up as close to the scheduled class time as possible. Building Blocks Preschool is not responsible for providing care for students before or after class. Phone calls are appreciated if you are running late. If you are later than 10 minutes for pick up a $5 fee will be added to your tuition.
Class Times – M/W/F AM 9-11:30 (4 year olds only), T/Th AM 9-11:30, T/Th PM 12:30-3, W PM 12:30-3 (4 year olds only on Wednesday)
Birthdays/Holidays – At preschool we love to celebrate birthdays and holidays. We invite you to send a goodie with your child on his/her special day. If you have any problem with celebrating holidays it is your responsibility to inform Ms. Beckie of your issues as to allow ample time for accommodations.
Take Home Folder – This will be one way I correspond with parents each week. I will place any homework, notes to be signed, informational notes, book orders, and take home books in these folders. These need to be sent to school each Thursday. I will keep them over the weekend.
Take Home Library – Each Tuesday I will be sending home a book and reading card for your child to practice at home. Be repetitive, and read books multiple times pointing to the words as you read them. Keep the letter/sound card, or sight word card at home and practice often, switching the order you say the letters/words. Once a child can pass off the card, they will be moved to the next level.
Homework – Homework will be sent home every week and will be due back on Thursday. Children who bring their homework back will receive a quarter to use in the gumball machine. This will be found in their take home folder with their library book and reading card. It is okay if homework doesn’t come back entirely finished (do what you can without a fight).
Show & Tell – Each week we will be learning about a specific letter or theme. Each Tuesday morning we will introduce the letter/theme of the week and have each child share their item relating to that week. For example: A week – bring an apple, B week – bring a baby doll, C week – bring a camera, Hygiene week – bring a toothbrush, etc.
Book Orders – These are totally optional, but are a great way to increase your own library. I’ll send them home every-other month.
Field Trips – We will take two field trips during the year. The first is generally in October and the second in February. Addition fees may apply, depending on the destination – Staheli Farm is $5/child.

As a parent/guardian of student(s) attending Beckie’s Building Blocks Preschool, you recognize that there are certain risks of physical injury and voluntarily agree to assume full risk of any injury, damages or loss, that your child or you may sustain as a result of participation in any activities associated with the school. You fully release Beckie’s Building Blocks Preschool, owner, and its volunteers of any and all claims associate with the school.
